Lu Pin, born in Shanghai, has lived in Poland since 1996. She is a graduate of the Shanghai Publishing and Printing College and the Faculty of Sculpture at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In the year 2002, she was awarded a graduate Honours diploma. For a period of two years Lu Pin was a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Sculpture at the Institute of Art Education of the Swietokrzyska Academy in Kielce. The artist has participated in international arts symposia, biennial exhibitions and workshops in Poland, China, South Korea, Italy and Greece. Lu Pin is the authoress of the monument to Fryderyk Chopin in Shanghai and Beijing. She has been awarded a scholarship in the programme for the support of artists initiated by the Head of the Local Government of the Pomeranian Province. In the year 2007 she was honoured with the "Gloria Artis" culture meritorious medal awarded by the Minister of Culture of Poland. In 2008 Lu Pin was awarded a diploma for outstanding services for the promotion of Poland in the world by the Minister of Foreign Affair of Poland.
